Supporting Those Who Gave Their Everything
Donate now and support Seamus’s challenge
On Saturday 15th November 2025, one of our incredible volunteers, Seamus Ellis, will be taking on an inspiring endurance challenge at FitUnion Gym and Fitness Centre, Birchington (CT7 9SA), spending 12 hours on the treadmill to raise funds for The Veterans Association.
Seamus proudly served in the Royal Engineers, deploying on Op Cabrit 6 in Estonia as part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence, and later supporting the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic under Op Rescript. His dedication to service didn’t end with his time in uniform… today, he continues to serve through volunteering and fundraising to help veterans across the UK.
“As a veteran, I know first-hand the importance of community, resilience, and support,” says Seamus. “Every donation, big or small, helps another veteran find hope, housing, or a helping hand when they need it most.”
To keep the atmosphere buzzing throughout the day, a second treadmill will be open for anyone who wants to hop on for a 30-minute slot, whether it’s to walk alongside Seamus, show solidarity, or simply help keep the motivation going.
And for those cheering from home, the full 12-hour challenge will be live streamed on our Facebook page, so you can tune in, send encouragement, and be part of the journey from wherever you are.
Every step Seamus takes represents the strength, sacrifice, and determination of our veteran community. The funds raised will go directly towards veteran grants, housing support, community projects, and wellbeing services, helping those who gave their everything when they need it most.
